Order of titles and justification
Title order
Professional films have a standardised way of showing credits. white letters scrolling over a black background has become a well known of way of showing both the opening and closing of films. Today with advances in technology opening credits can take a more creative approach, employing computer graphics and visual elements that reflect the aesthetic snd expository styles of the film. Either way, the order of the credits has stayed the same for most of this history.
Opening credits start with the distribution company or main studio backer. Since this will most likely be an independent distributor that did not finance the film it will appear on its own. This is followed by the production company which is established by us. After this the directors credit tends to show.
The cast and title list the most well known and prominet actors within the film. the list is normally kept to less than five members. after you reach the title of the film - its often best to display the title of the movie in a different format and text to make it stand out more to the audience.
After naming the main cast you must list everyone who helped and had a serious part within the making of the film. If the film has well know actors in smaller roles the format often follows 'John as Character X'
All other above the line positions. Then list the director of photography, who did the primary score, and who the casting directors were. This is followed by listing all of the producers, both regular and executive, as well as the production designer. Next and finally is the editor , which is the last of the lit of normal primary positions. Now you do a semi- recap, by listing any primary source the film concept was taken from , as well as who wrote the screenplay. This is a very important credit , but it is always near the end. Opening credits finish by listing the director again you also list who its written by, directed by, produced by and edited by.
